Strange Things about Cars You Might Not Know of

Cars have been around for centuries.  They have come a long way with the evolution and progress of technology that people from all walks of life, races, and age recognize symbols, images, and even shadows depicting cars. Cars are one of the few versatile things that can be used as a necessary piece of property, a luxury item, and a symbol of status and power.

Even so, cars have been around for so long that there are sure to be strange and wonderful facts associated with it. Why not try reading through some of them before selling your cars for cash?

Popular and Profitable

Model T Fords were some of the most popular car models of all time. In fact, 55% of all cars sold in the US in 1916 were Model T Fords. That percentage was so high that the record for that has never been beaten up to this day.

Though Model Ts bagged the record, it wasn’t even the first popular American car. That title belongs to the Curved Dash Oldsmobile. While it didn’t get 55% of the slice of the car sales-pie, it was still a pretty popular model which sold brand new for only $650.

Sounds really inexpensive, right? Cars were pretty much affordable throughout the years. In 1960, for example, you could buy a two-door Buick La Sabre for below $3000, and while the car drives in manual, it’s still all brand new.

Of course, this is taking into consideration that the value of currency then differs from its values today. So while $650 will seem like peanuts today, it might have been what an average worker earns for a year or more back in 1916.

Extravagantly Expensive

On the other hand, cars will always be a status symbol.  People always love to show off no matter what century they’re born. In fact, the most expensive car ever sold on the market in 2010 cost over $2 million dollars, a price so out of reach for almost 90% of the entire population that only 3 models were made. Still, two million is still chump change compared to what the 1931 Bugatti Royale Kellner Coupe managed to rack up. It was sold for a whopping eight million and seven hundred thousand dollars.

From less than a thousand dollars to something less than ten million dollars. how much are you willing to pay for a box of metal on wheels?
